The invasion of Ukraine by Russia at the beginning of this year almost turned the balances all over the world upside down. Giant companies joined the embargo to show their reactions to Russia. Mercedes, one of them, is taking stricter decisions for Russia.
Mercedes Has Transferred All Its Assets In Russia To Avtodom
Participating in the embargo frenzy in the first months of the war, Mercedes stopped its sales in Russia. In the process, when the war environment does not reduce its effect, the German company cuts its ties. The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade announced that an agreement was signed with Mercedes-Benz on the transfer of all assets of the company in Russia to Avtodom.
On the other hand, the European Business Association (AEB), located in Russia, revealed the point reached in Mercedes sales. According to the shared data, domestic Mercedes brand automobile sales decreased by 72.8 percent in September compared to the same period of the previous year.
Many auto giants had stopped car sales within Russia at the beginning of the war. However, Mercedes-Benz is not the only company leaving its assets in the country. The company is the third company to leave the country, after Renault and Nissan.
From the Russian point of view, the Kremlin’s hand is getting worse. All the technology-related requirements in the country are met from limited resources. Finally, recently, Nvidia has decided to leave the country completely. This decision puts Russian companies such as Yandex, Sberbank and MTS in a difficult situation, especially using graphics processor models such as A100 and DGX-2.
