In the Netherlands, discussions are ongoing regarding the enactment of a permanent law that would allow the government to impose the necessary restrictions on Covid-19 and similar epidemics.

In the news published in the public news agency NOS, it was stated that the Union of Municipalities, the Union of Mayors and the Dutch Security Council opposed making the powers given to the government for Covid-19 “permanent” by adding it to the Public Health Law.

In the news, it was noted that the government received criticism that the amendments to the Public Health Law were “vague”, “ambiguous” and “irrational”.
