Spanish top flight football is back this weekend and Barcelona open their league campaign with a game against Real Betis on Sunday.
In a build up to the game, the club have announced that they would be homage to the victims of the Thursday terror attacks in Spain.
The players would wear a special shirt with ‘Barcelona’ behind, while in front would be hashtag #TotsSomBarcelona.
Barcelona said in a statement:
The first team will wear a special shirt with ‘Barcelona’ on the back where their names are usually displayed in Sunday’s LaLiga opener against Real Betis.
This is to pay homage to all the victims of the recent terror attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils.
The club received special authorisation for this move from the RFEF, and LaLiga also gave permission to display the hashtag #TotsSomBarcelona on the chest of the shirt.
In addition, the the various teams at the club at different age divisions will wear a black armband in all the games taking place over the weekend.
